Abstract - Internet of Things envisions a world where small intelligent objects share data with each other or cooperate in groups to achieve complex goals. However, current devices and communication infrastructures characterized by proprietary protocols and a lack of common standards both on network and application level prevent the realization of this vision. We are targeting are reference architecture facilitating smart distributed applications that combine information from different domains currently isolated from each other. In order to break up that isolation and facilitate simple development, deployment and operation of smart distributed applications, the reference architecture is based on a uniform resource-efficient infrastructure, uniform data and services models and a comprehensive semantic description, facilitating development of cross-domain applications.
